Lamborghini Urus : Performance, Features & Options

The Lamborghini Urus is fast, sleek, stylish, and luxurious. Lamborghini’s first super sports utility vehicle (SUV) made its debut on 4 December 2017 and hit the market for the 2018 model year. Urus blends the performance of a sports vehicle with the utility of an SUV. This car is ideal for anyone looking for extra space while still enjoying luxury and excitement, from the driving dynamics to the proportions. The Lamborghini Urus’ styling is one of its most striking qualities. The SUV is big, tall, and weighs over two tons, an absolute beast. Its name is derived from the Urus, the aurochs, the ancestor of modern domestic cattle.

Lamborghini Urus exemplifies both the SUV and sports car roles with its magnificent blend of sportiness and luxury. When you’re driving on the road, on the track, or off-road, this style will help you stand out. While traveling around the country, you can express yourself. The enormous 21-inch wheels, sharp edges, and intense colors contribute to the SUV’s muscular appearance. The Urus also features signature Lamborghini style, such as the central peak on the hood, hexagonal and Y-shape accents, the crossing lines on the rear hood, and Rain-sensing windshield wipers. Urus is available in 10 different colors, including Bianco Monocerus, Blu Astraeus, Blu Eleos, Giallo Auge, Green, orange, Nero Helene, Nero Noctis, and Rosso Mars and Yellow.

Lamborghini Urus Interior Design and Features

Urus’s cabin is spacious, versatile, luxurious and comfortable, and tech-laden. The driver’s position is reminiscent of a jet-fighter cabin. An Aventador-inspired dashboard and console add to the sense of exotic styling. The Tamburo controls at the center console base are a standout feature; this cluster of buttons and dials is created with an aviation theme. The rest of the interior is lavished with soft leather and Alcantara trim, creating a rich and elegant atmosphere with sporty rather than extravagant overtones. It has a heated steering wheel with controls, a surround-view 360-degree camera, a head-up display, and acoustic and heat-insulated glasses.

All the seats are heated and ventilated and provide excellent support and comfort. The panoramic sunroof merely adds to the cabin’s spaciousness. What is more impressive is that, while being a performance-oriented SUV, the Urus doesn’t skimp on cabin space, giving rear-seat occupants enough headroom and legroom to sit comfortably. The front seats offer plenty of room for the passengers. The bolstering in the front seats is also rather good, and it keeps the passengers firmly in place. So, you won’t float all over the car if you decide to push the beast around corners. Finding the optimal driving position is also simple, thanks to the numerous modifications available in the seats. You can adjust both reach and rake on the steering wheel.

The steering wheel is quick and comfortable to handle, with perforated leather and suede options. The steering wheel’s flat bottom gives it a sporty appearance. The Urus employs Google Maps, which are incredibly detailed and user-friendly. Google Maps are available on the driver’s display, which eliminates the need for the driver to glance away from the road when seeking directions. The SUV also comes with various safety and driver-assistance features, including a night-vision camera, which is available as an option.

The back seats are also adjustable and offer plenty of legroom, and can accommodate two to three passengers depending on the seating layout. You will be more than satisfied if you choose the captain chairs in the back. When it comes to comfort and interior quality, Lamborghini has covered every inch of the ground. The rear bench seat folds in a 40-20-40 arrangement. The Urus features 56 cubic feet of storage, with the back seats completely folded down. The cargo compartment can hold up to 22 cubic feet with the back seat up, but the space decreases by two cubic feet with the optional rear bucket seats.

Urus is equipped with the most up-to-date, cutting-edge connectivity and infotainment technology. There are two touchscreens incorporated into the center stack that include settings for the climate system, audio, and other settings, in addition to a fully digital gauge cluster. Although the screens offer sharp images and large icons, they lack the intuitiveness of traditional knobs and buttons. The four-zone climate control system is highly effective, allowing each passenger to regulate their temperature and fan speed. Passengers in the back seat get their screen to control the temperature. The main Infotainment features include:

  • 3-D view camera
  • Traffic Management
  • AM/FM/DAB radio services
  • Multi-source rear audio controls
  • Android Auto /Bluetooth /Apple CarPlay
  • 1,700-watt, 21-speaker Bang & Olufsen Ultra-Premium Audio System

Lamborghini Urus Drivetrain and Performance

The SUV is powered by a V-8 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine that generates 650 horsepower and a torque of 627 pound-feet. It makes a deep burble when idle, and when fully revved, it growls like a lion. The engine is paired with an eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, a rear-axle torque-vectoring system, and carbon-ceramic brakes. It deploys a four-wheel steering system to compensate for its size and weight.

With highly responsive steering and stable high-speed cornering, the Urus feels dynamic in the driver’s seat. The Urus has changeable ride heights dependent on the various drive modes thanks to air springs at all four corners. Urus can blast from zero to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and smash the quarter-mile mark in 11.3 seconds at 121 mph. It has an estimated top speed of 190 mph. The carbon-ceramic brakes enable it to brake from 70 mph to a stop in 149 feet. Fuel economy is estimated at 12 mpg for city driving and 17 mpg on the highway.

Lamborghini Urus is a super SUV with a fantastic interior and feels worth its handsome price. Whether you keep this car on the road or use the optional off-road driving modes to take it into the wild to discover what it is capable of, the performance will not disappoint. It is arguably the best SUV on the market right now and also the most affordable Lamborghini you can buy. Enthusiast also feels it offers the best value in the Italian company’s lineup.
