These SUVs are made to suit every type of driver and are at home both in the city and out on the adventure trail. So, what are the Mercedes SUV Models?
The Mercedes SUVs Lineup
Note that the AMG models are performance vehicles. They are tuned in a specific way to provide sportier handling and extra power for increased performance. They also have a more aggressive appearance.
GLA SUV
The GLA is a premium subcompact luxury SUV that is daring yet versatile, with a design that stands out and a size that fits the needs of most people in search of a small, premium daily-driver SUV. The base engine is a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo with direct injection, delivering 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It drives the GLA 250, which can be had with either front-wheel drive or a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. For more performance, get either the AMG GLA 35 or AMG GLA 45 model.
The AMG GLA 35 gets an upgraded version of the 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo that puts out 302 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The AMG GLA 45 model boasts an even higher output of 382 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque. An AMG Performance 4MATIC+® all-wheel drive system is standard on both AMG models.
Other standard features in this small, five-seater SUV include SmartKey with KEYLESS START, 8-inch high-resolution central screen, Bluetooth phone and audio, Dual-zone automatic climate control, power liftgate and 50.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
GLB SUV
The GLB is the GLA’s slightly larger and more practical sibling. It appears taller and boxier on the outside, and it also has reasonably-sized cabin that can carry up to 7 passengers (there is an optional third row of seats). Its two-row models offer up to 62.0 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down, which is adequate for cargo needs of most commuters.
The base GLB 250 model can also be had with either front-wheel drive or a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, and is also driven 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine giving 221 HP and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is matched with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for ultra-smooth shifts. The performance-focused AMG GLB 35 has the same engine featured in AMG GLA 35 model.
GLC SUV
The compact GLC SUV is next in Mercedes-Benz’s SUV hierarchy. It is larger and has a roomy yet lavish interior to match its exquisite exterior styling. It can accommodate up to five passengers and provides up to 56.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity when its rear seats are folded down. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L inline-4 that produces 255 HP and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. It drives the GLC 300 and GLC 300 4MATIC models.
The GLC 350e plug-in hybrid model blends fuel efficiency with performance, featuring a hybrid engine that pairs the base engine with an 85kW electric motor. It generates an impressive 315 HP and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. The AMG GLC 43 benefits from a 385-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6, while the GLC 63 cranks up the power with a mighty 469-horsepower twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8. At the top of the range is the ultra-powerful AMG GLC 63 S, which packs an even more potent 503-HP engine.
GLC Coupe
The new GLC coupe rides high, but its steep back roofline reduces baggage space and rear-seat headroom. The coupe can seat five passengers and provides 17.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. This model’s engine lineup also starts with a 255-HP turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-4 engine for GLC 300 coupe. The AMG GLC43 coupe, AMG GLC63 coupe, and AMG GLC63 S feature the same engines as their non-coupe variants.
All models come with a nine-speed automatic transmission powering all four wheels through a standard 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.
GLE SUV
The GLE midsize SUV is even larger. It offers an elegant and spacious interior, approachable tech features, agile-and-gentle driving dynamics and a refined engine lineup. It can also transport up to seven passengers and a significant amount of freight. The standard engine is a 2.0L inline-4 turbo generating 255 HP and 273 lb.-ft. of torque; it drives the GLE 350 and GLE 350 4MATIC.
Other engine options include a 362HP turbocharged 3.0L Inline-6 with a hybrid powertrain (for the GLE 450 4MATIC), and a 429 HP AMG 3.0L V6 Biturbo (for the AMG GLE 53), or 603 HP 5.5L turbocharged V8 (for the AMG GLE 63 S). All trim levels feature the nine-speed auto-transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive systems. With a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds and features like Crosswind Assist and Trailer Stability Assist, hauling even the heaviest toys is a breeze.
GLE Coupe
The GLE coupe boasts a sportier body style and only comes with AMG powertrains; also standard are nine-speed automatic transmissions and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive systems. AMG GLE53 has a 3.0-litre turbo inline-6 producing 429 HP and 384 lb-ft of torque. It is augmented by an EQ Boost function adding up to 21 HP and a torque of 184 lb.-ft.; as a result, it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.
AMG GLE63 S Coupe V8’s 603 HP 5.5L turbocharged V8 also has the EQ Boost feature. As a result, it can hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
GLS SUV
The GLS is the largest and most spacious of the Mercedes SUV models. This three-row, 7-passenger high-end SUV has a powerful presence and is also considered a benchmark for quality in the full-size SUV segment. Its base engine is a 3.0L turbo inline-6 with EQ Boost that puts out 362 HP and 369 lb.-ft. of torque; it drives the GLS 450 model.
Other engine options include 483 HP twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 (for the GLS 580), a 4.0L V8 Biturbo with EQ Boost generating 550HP (for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600), and an AMG twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V-8 engine paired with a 48-volt electric motor generating 603 HP (for the AMG GLS 63).
All trims come with air suspension, the standard all-wheel-drive and 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission. The GLS has a towing capacity of up to 7,500 lbs.
G-Class SUV

Topping the range is an AMG G 63 model that features a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine generating 577HP and 627 lb-ft of torque. All models are utilize a nine-speed auto-transmission and a 4-wheel-drive system.
